Thrift Store Items You Can Resell on eBay (January 16, 2013)
Hi and welcome to the January 16, 2013 edition of Thrift Store Items You Can Resell on eBay!
Each week I’ll post several pics of thrift store items that I’ve recently sold on eBay, as well as share with you the profits that I’ve made for that item.
This post thread has quickly become my favorite and hopefully you’re starting to get some ideas of what brands and items to look for at your own thrift stores.
Nike’s, Air Jordan’s, Vintage School Bags, and…Cowboy Hats?!
I sold some pretty interesting things this past week. There were my “typical” sales - Nike’s, Air Jordan’s and assorted sports items – and the not-so-typical items such as vintage school bags (which I’ll show you how to spot a little later) and Cowboy Hats. Yes, Cowboy Hats! And I’m not talking about NFL Dallas Cowboy hats, I’m talking about full-on western, on-the-ranch Cowboy Hats!
I wasn’t sure how well those hats were going to sell since I’ve never sold them before but experimenting with different items and brands is one of the best ways to improve your product search and not to mention that it’s also a lot of fun!
Hope your doing well and having a great – and profitable, of course – time at the thrift stores!
Cheers,
Meinard
Finds of the Week
Vintage Jansport Bag
Item Cost: $1.99
Winning Bid: $24.99
Thrift Store Tip: Vintage Jansport Bags are great sellers on eBay but you need to know what to look for. The easiest way to spot the vintage Jansport bags is by the leather/suede on the bottom of the bag. Some of these bags (depending on the style) can sell for over $100 and I’ve already sold several in the $25-$50 range so definitely be on the lookout for these!
Resistol Cowboy Hat

I never pay attention to the hats, looks like I need to!
Thanks a lot,
Mike
No problem, and congrats again on your 20% off!

I guess you have to use a pretty good size box to ship the cowboy hats in.
Jason
Yeah, that was the only drawback to selling those hats. They were too big for the Large flat rate boxes so I had to do a scavenger hunt around my house for a box. And I had to wait in line at the post office. But all worth it in the end!
