My February 2012 Monthly Income Report
Welcome to my February 2012 Monthly Income Report!
Every month I write a report about the income I make from reselling thrift store items on Ebay.
In each report, I’ll include the amount of money I’ve made on online and as well as share with you any important lessons that I’ve learned during that month. I do this to motivate motivate myself and hopefully inspire you to take action and earn some extra cash reselling thrift store items.
As always, I don’t consider myself an “expert” and I will never claim that thrift store reselling will solve all your financial problems.
However, through my own experiences, experiments, and case studies, I hope to show you how you can turn your local thrift store into an additional source of income!
I hope you enjoy this month’s report!
My Solution to the “January Dip”
I mentioned in my previous Income Report that my sales for the month of January were lower than usual. So what was my solution?
List and list some more!
If I had to attribute my sales increase in February to one thing, it would have to be the increase in the number of items I listed. The formula is simple: the more items you have listed, the more sales opportunities you have. Plus, as I’ve mentioned before, the more visits I made to the thrift store, the luckier I seemed to get.
I made a real effort to list as many items as I possibly could and, as a result, I was able to sell 21 more items than I did in January. When you multiply that by my average sale price of $20-$25 then you have a big reason why I was able to overcome my “January Dip”.
I had a lot of success with designer jeans in February. Here’s some of the best jeans that I sold:
Citizens of Humanity Jeans
Winning Bid: $39.99
Fleur De Lis Jeans
Winning Bid: $63.00
Guess Jeans
Winning Bid: $34.99
Special Edition Kim Na Heul Jeans
Winning Bid: $56.00

Before I go any further, please note that I have two (2) Ebay Seller accounts. Ebay allows each seller to have 50 free auction listings per month. Therefore, by having two seller accounts, I now have 100 free auction listings per month.
Also, the graph and sales numbers that I share with you come directly from Ebay. They are copy and pasted from the sales report that I receive each month.
*The sales amount is based on the final sale prices of the items when they ended. Shipping and handling cost are NOT included in these prices.

Combined Sales: $2,213.00
March 2012 Goal: $4,000.00
I’ve never set sales goals before so I wanted to try it and see if it makes a difference. I’ve always had a ball-park figure of how much monthly sales I want to make but to actually have a set number is something new and exciting for me.
To be honest, $4,000 in sales is ambitious since I’ve never actually made that much before, but I’m glad I set such a lofty number. It forced to me to push and hustle in a way that I never thought I could before. March is quickly coming to an end and I’m excited to share the results I had.
In the meantime, wish me luck as I try to reach $4,000!
